My Story
Yolly's are an independent sustainably minded floral design studio. We strive to find and work with the best local growers and suppliers as well as from local allotments.
Floristry seemed a natural progression from a previous career in photojournalism, from recording and documenting, observing people and their habits to obsessively photographing flowers and landscapes and researching garden designers.
Running my own flower shop in Forest Hill for the last 6 years, I’ve been privileged to work with some fantastic people along my journey, i am embracing the slower pace of running a studio.
Sustainability
We strive to find and work with the best local growers and suppliers as well as from allotments. Cornish suppliers, flower farms in Hampshire and Lincolnshire, and growers further afield in Europe. At the heart of everything we do, is sustainability. Utilising our floral waste, either by pressing our floral waste into pressed flower cards, drying and perserving flowers, which are then re used and made into dried bouquets- composting . You can trust that when you are buying from Yolly, you are buying the best of what's in season.
We work collaboratively with a number of private clients on a variety of different projects Art Galleries, Events, fashion brands, weddings, funerals,
The ways Yolly's is sustainable -
Removing florals from venues to ensure florals are taken to the home after the funeral to the wake, using plants instead of cut flowers, Wrapping the florals at the end of the wedding reception to gift the flowers to friends, family guests at the end of the night.
Delivering florals from film premieres, events, to charities who use flowers for wellbeing workshops, those working with refugees.
We also work collaboratively community art funded installations. We run a great work experience placement with local secondary schools. Connection is everything.
